An AI-powered platform
obsessed with results.
Fulcrum's Adaptive 3.0 learning platform gives learners the tools they need to go at their own pace, master skills and successfully apply the training back on the job. And the platform’s analytics verify learner mastery, identify “All Stars,” and both predict At-Risk learners and provide actionable data to help them succeed, so they don't have to... "fake-it-til-they-make-it."
Fulcrum is, at its core,
a Data Science company.
We’ve committed to an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning framework, which allows us to build our proprietary models such as our Behavior & Knowledge Mapping (BKM™) on top to emulate, as best as possible, a one-on-one coach or mentor type experience.
I am deeply impressed by the professionalism, curiosity, and commitment Fulcrum has to understanding and enhancing student outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Adaptive technology is a powerful learning tool for the learner, but it’s exponentially more powerful when it’s combined with other elements of personalized learning, a competency-based approach and things like microlearning, because it then starts to truly replicate many of the benefits of a dedicated, one-on-one tutor.
It’s easy to get excited about the potential of an adaptive platform, but make sure it’s also going to meet all your technical requirements, in terms of things like compatibility, ease of use (think SSO) and, of course, stability. Just because a learning platform is digital and can theoretically handle high volumes of learners, doesn’t automatically mean that it will in real-world practice. You might not want to be the first one to find out.
Adaptive technology has the potential to maximize course efficiency, in terms of time to mastery, as the system is adjusting for each learner, serving them the most appropriate level of challenge, in-the-moment tips, hints and positive feedback. On the learner side -- because they don’t see all the behind the scenes adjustments made by our adaptive engine -- one of the most common compliments we get from learners is that they love being able to go at their own pace. Note, they’re also able to jump right into proving mastery for those subjects in which they have prior knowledge.
Similar to a one-on-one tutor, we want don’t want to discourage or frustrate learners with material that is clearly above their current ability or lose their attention by presenting them with material that is clearly well below their capabilities. So, one of our main goals with our adaptive algorithms is “Optimal Challenge,” the level of difficulty just above a learner’s current ability. Optimal Challenge is a strategy that has been used successfully across the gaming industry.
Adaptive learning platforms have the potential to collect a wealth of data on both the learner and the course. An effective adaptive platform should be using data and A.I. to help instructors quickly and confidently target remediation and provide assistance in fine-tuning the course. But the data shouldn’t overwhelm instructors with unnecessary stats or cluttered displays. Look for instructor dashboards that keep things simple and relevant, namely: Who needs help, Where (specific learning objectives), and Why. Make sure the platform can help you evaluate course performance and make suggestions for how to improve it, based on analytics. Consider that your course is not fixed. Go into the process knowing that you’re going to make tweaks and additions to the course over time. You’ll refine some of the assessments and/or content. You’ll have new additions. You might want to take something out that’s no longer relevant. You might just want to move things around in terms of the order of the course. Pick a platform and partner where this is easy. You’ll thank yourself later.
You’re not just picking technology; you’re also picking a partner. Make sure your goals and philosophies align. Speak with their customers about their experience—integration, implementation, rubric for success, the provider’s process, collaboration skills, customer service, hidden fees, stability of the platform, etc.
Candidates simply complete an approximately 10-15 minute diagnostic course in our competency-based platform. (The course could be built from your training content and/or some content from our prebuilt library.)
Our analytics then identify candidates with the greatest potential from your pool of applicants. You'll have a distinct advantage in hiring the right people; greater confidence in the selection process; employees that are more focused before they start; the ability to streamline and accelerate the hiring process; and as a result of these things, you'll increase productivity and reduce turnover.
The process also gives candidates a much greater sense of the position to assess if the position is a good fit for them as well, which also helps ensure you get the right person for the job and reduce turnover.
We have experts dedicated to help you with successful implementation and a full training program to guide the technical and courseware integration process.
Should you want help with content, we also offer full-service Instructional Design and video creation. Our award-winning content team can help with services like curriculum design, assessment creation, 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics and custom video production. We’ve built hundreds of hours of content and thousands of assessments in our platform.
We are here to ensure your success. We're your partner.
If you need help converting your existing material to video or creating adaptive assessments sets, Fulcrum Labs has a team of accomplished instructional designers who can help convert them for you. We’d be happy to discuss the scope of the work and create a plan and budget for you.
Historically, learning outcomes in the corporate training and compliance space have been defined and tracked by your LMS as seat time and completion. To make sure you're empowering your employees and reaping the full benefits of training, the key question is: Did the employee master the material?
Fulcrum Labs’ proprietary algorithms are gathering hundreds of points of data that can be used by organizations to pinpoint exactly what an employee knows. We can track learning down to a single learning objective and determine if this learning is merely rote memorization or if the learner can apply the knowledge to the job. Fulcrum is a robust evaluation tool that can help reduce risk for compliance heavy industries, maximize efficiencies for process driven jobs, and greatly reduce the amount of time spent training.
If you go the full-service route, we can also accommodate changes quickly. We can typically make simple video, graphic, and lecture note changes within 24 hours. We’ll work with you during the curriculum design phase to create the training with change-likely areas in mind.
